If I could define Katy & Michael’s wedding in one word I would say: JOY – There were so many smiles, laughs and tears of joy. Your vows were awesome! I totally loved the roll of paper Michael used to read off his vows (very original). Katy – I LOVED your yellow sneakers with the Mrs. Green on the back. So cute! Their sunflowers & yellow color choices were a perfect match to their sunny personalities. Seeing their love for each other one couldn’t stop smiling.  Their ceremony was at Northstone Country Club in Huntersville overlooking the golf course and then we entered the hall for the reception. Katy was a DIY bride doing all of the corsages, bouquets and centerpieces herself with help from family & friends. The key on the bouquet & Michael’s boutonniere represented they key to each others’ hearts – so sweet! DJ Dana McQueen did a wonderful job getting the party going and the cupcake tower by Sweet Cakes looked & tasted great.

Heather & Danny had a Jewish ceremony at beautiful Temple Beth El in Charlotte, NC. I loved the symbolism & personal touches of the ceremony. Since they had their wedding outdoors, the way it was set up I was actually able to go behind where the Rabbi Schindler was (which is a rare to get) and get some of my favorite ceremony pictures of the two of them.

Adrienne looked STUNNING in her gorgeous bridal gown and cathedral veil. Her flowers by Lily Greenthumbs beautifully accented her dress. Adrienne had lots of ‘bling’ showing her city girl style. A sweet touch was a broach on her bridal bouquet that belonged to her grandmother that passed away last year. Monica from Bobby Brown did a great job on Adrienne’s make up and Andrea from Legacy Hair transformed Adrienne’s look. I LOVE the custom hanger made by Elizabeth from Novia Artesana http://www.etsy.com/shop/NoviArtesana. It looked perfect against the white bed. Once Adrienne was ready we headed to do the First Look!

Greg was in awe as he first saw her during their first look. They could not have asked for a better day. The weather was perfect and several areas around Trade & Tryon were blocked off and Adrienne & Greg got exclusive permission to get the wedding photos they had dreamed about.

Adrienne & Greg had a beautiful ceremony at Myers Park Presbyterian Church.  Adrienne’s dad was part of a duet during the ceremony and all I can say is INCREDIBLE voice. The reception venue was definitely unique. They got married at The Bianchi House. It has great brick around it, awesome terrace, and is located in the heart of uptown.  During the reception they played their ‘Welcome to Charlotte’ video that we create a few months ago. The entire place had TV screens everywhere (ok, so maybe we were drooling a little bit).

Janet and her crew from La Tea Da’s outdid themselves. The food was AMAZING! I especially loved the cupcake tower and candy table décor. It was beautiful. The flowers decorating the reception area were gorgeous and the linens and rest of the décor from Party Reflections matched really well.  Neil from Slit Second Sound did a great job mixing the music for the party. Adrienne & Greg you guys are just so sweet. We loved being a part of your wedding day!

Time to update the blog!!!

This has been a SUPER busy month but what wonderful weddings we have had. God’s hand was definitely at work for April & Sayer’s wedding. While they were getting ready it was POURING RAIN yet as we got closer to the Dairy Barn in Fort Mills, SC the rain disappeared and the heavens opened up. We still got to do their fabulous first look in the middle of the peach trees as planned. April’s dress was just gorgeous and Colour by Candace did a great job with April’s makeup and Natalie of Shear Image Salon did a great job on her hair.

April & Sayer had a beautiful ceremony and great reception where DJ Krazy T kept the party going.  April, her family & friends did an AMAZING job decorating the hall. So much of the wedding was DYI – the flowers, decor… hmm maybe someone needs a hobby/job in decor It was breathtaking! We are so excited about our new custom designed “Guest Sign-In” photo books!!! It came out amazing! If you have not seen these yet – check it out below. We’ll never forget 9/11 and the feelings that most of us had that day. I woke up that morning and usually I never turned on the TV but that day I turned on GMA as I was getting ready. The first tower had just been hit and it just seemed surreal as I watched. Moments later the second tower was hit and the pentagon and Flight 93 went down. My brother lived in NYC at the time and I just remember praying and spending that morning trying to call NYC (which most lines were down) and using msn messenger to try to communicate with many of my other family and friends that had loved ones or lived in NYC during that time. We are thankful and remember those who passed from the victims at the World Trade Center, everyone in the 4 airplanes that crashed, those in the Pentagon, the firefighters, police officers, port authority workers, EMTs and others who worked tirelessly in the rescue efforts that day and the following months as well as the military personnel who have gone on to fight the war against terrorism.

I think the images from September 11 will stick with us forever. 

As the names were being read today a woman who’s husband had passed away on 9-11 said ‘We press on as we know you are in the arms of our Savior Jesus Christ, until that moment we live on…’ Her saying ‘We press on…” comes from the verse in Philippians 3:14 were it says “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Let September 11 always serves as a reminder of the fragility of life. What a wonderful peace for this family and many others to know that they will one day see their loved ones in heaven. The song “We will remember” by Tommy Walker comes to my mind. Let us not remember God one day or a few days a year – make it a daily reminder – Remember sacrifice on the cross.

We have been super busy and we still have several weddings & sessions that will be blogged in the coming days! We just had to take a few minutes and share about our family…

Today marked an important milestone for our baby girl Rebeca. She started playschool! She was VERY excited to be a big girl and go to school. We know she’ll do great and will be well taken care of. It is definitely a bitter-sweet day for us. We love that our kids are excited to go to school but it also means they are growing up way too fast! This just serves as a constant reminder of how quickly time goes by and the importance of capturing it through pictures and video.
